Woodshop Finances

The woodshop is supported by Rossmoor residents making donations for our work on their projects.   Any resident may come in with projects, get an approximate estimate and then decide if they want us to proceed with the job.   The services provided by the woodshop are repairs, and completing woodworking related projects.   We also offer a knife sharpening services for Rossmoor residents charging fifty cents per inch.   We ask for donations between $12-$15 an hour for labor.   If any wood or supplies are needed sometimes we have these on hand, or sometimes we ask the resident to purchase what is needed to do the job.   This will also be included in the estimate.

These donations go to purchase shop supplies, saw blades, drill & router bits, new equipment, existing equipment repairs, knife sharpening supplies, etc.  There is never a shortage of these items that we need to keep the shop going.   The donations go in the donation box hanging from the front entrance door across from the Peacock Hall.   The Treasurer collects these monies once a week and deposits them into our bank account.   He also write checks to reimburse supervisors who have purchased items needed in the shop.
